I have always wanted to do a get-together to make gingerbread houses, and since Brody was old enough to actually sit down and enjoy decorating one with all of the kids, I went ahead and organized it. Our family was joined by Justin and his family and the Walker Family, as well as my mom, Maddox, my brothers, Danielle, Mary, my cousin Markella and my Aunt Audrey and Uncle Leroy...whew...lots of friends and family! I enjoy having a house full of people, JC...not so much, well I shouldn't say that, he enjoys "adult" company! Several children running around making messes gives him anxiety and headaches, LoL! He had fun though, he did enjoy himself!
I originally planned to make gingerbread houses from scratch, but then I found a gingerbread train kit and knew Brody would LOVE putting that together more since he's obsessed with trains! So I got train kits for the boys, and the girls did gingerbread house kits! It was the first time I had ever done a kit...It made it sooo much easier and way less messy! The kids all did an excellent job putting them together (with some help of course) and decorating them! Of course Brody ate his candy decorations, well not all of them, he still managed to put a few gumballs and sweet tarts on his train, but most of it he devoured:)
I hope everyone had a lot of fun! I'm definately gonna do this again next year!
