On Thursday the 26th of February, the gates of heaven opened up and brought us a beautiful 5lb. 12 oz. baby girl whom we named Mercedes CoCo Cordova! Although she came 4 weeks early...which was a HUGE surprise to me...she is teeny tiny, but is as healthy as a full term baby. Mercedes looks a lot like that of her big brother Brody. She is as relaxed and as easy to care for as Brody was, except that she has less patience. She loves being swaddled and snuggled up tight. She very much prefers her fetal position, curled up in a tight little ball!
We all feel very blessed and lucky to have her. She is a precious addition to our family!
Thursday morning, Brody and I started our day out as we normally do. Shower, dress make bed etc...around 10:00 that morning, the bresnan cable boys came to our house to set up our cable and internet. they had only been maybe 15 minutes into their job when I realized I had begun to leak fluid. At first it was only a little bit, so I quickly ran to the bathroom, changed pants and returned to keeping Brody out of their way. Then more started to come out, so again I ran to the bathroom, changed pants AGAIN and returned. It then started to leak more frequently, so I kept having to run to the bathroom to change pants...I can only imagine what the bresnan boys were thinking...cause you could definitely see the wetness in my pants as I continued to leak...I'm SURE they saw it at some point, since one of the boys was upstairs working on the cable in our room. Poor boy;) Finally I called my mom and told her of my predicament. She immediatly left work to come to my rescue. I also called the doc and he told me to go to labor & delivery to be checked out. Mom quickly arrived and booted the cable boys out of our house and told them of the situation...somewhat embarrassing I hope I never run into these guys ever again! We arrived at labor and delivery, where I continued to leak more and more fluid. They had me get into my gown and placed me on the monitors, stuck me 4 times before they got an IV to go into a vein. It was the real thing, and our baby was comming that afternoon. After waiting for an operating room to become available...which was like and hour and a half later, Mercedes came via c-section; because like her brother, she was also sunny side up in my belly (breech).
...Melting daddy's heart...
...kisses & admiration from daddy and big brother...
