~ Pinon Pickers

So mom had heard a rumor that relatives had found Pinon up around Gateway and Montrose. So for the last couple weekends her and I have tried to get out of town to collect our own, but with either bad weather or different schedules, we were unable to go until this last weekend. So finally saturday morning, mom, Brody and I took off toward Gateway to scavage for Pinon. At first we struggled to even find Pinon trees, and when we finally found the trees, all the Pinon that were below it were dried up. So we continued to move farther up and as we did we were finally able to get the GOOD stuff. Some trees had a whole bunch underneath it, and others only had a few. Nevertheless, we did manage to collect about a pound each.
Brody had a hay day up there. Beatin' bushes and trees with sticks and throwing rocks and playin' in the dirt...what else could he ask for?! He struggled to nap though, so by the end of our Pinon Picking adventure, he was beat and ready to go...below is a pic of him taking a "break" on me...he was munching on Pringles!
...Me & Brody......He looked so cute in his orange attire...
...Some of the Pinon we found... ...Our earnings...5 hours worth...
